A drone without a warhead was discovered in the village of Băsești in northwestern Romania, Romanian broadcaster TVR reported on May 28.
The drone that was discovered was described as a large UAV with a wingspan of about three meters.
The area was cordoned off, and prosecutors from the Court of Appeal in Cluj launched an investigation. Authorities are working to determine the drone’s origin and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Overnight into May 29, a drone crashed into a residential building in the Romanian city of Galați, sparking a fire on the 10th floor. No fatalities were reported, but two people were injured. The drone was identified as a Russian Geran-2 (Shahed) UAV.
Seventy residents of the building were evacuated.
It is not yet known whether the two incidents are connected.
