Zelenskyy meets leaders of Romania, Finland, Poland at Bucharest Nine summit

Zelenskyy thanked Romanian President Nicusor Dan for the invitation to the summit and proposed security partnership through the Drone Deal format, which Ukraine uses to leverage its expertise in modern UAV solutions to arrange technology exchanges with other countries.

"Special attention is on Ukraine's European integration,” the Ukrainian president said.

“We expect to move as quickly as possible to opening [accession] negotiation clusters, and Romania's support on this issue is important for us. We also discussed implementing the agreements reached during my visit to Bucharest in March.”

He also met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb to discuss diplomatic efforts to end the Russo–Ukrainian war and Europe's role in that process. Zelenskyy said the two coordinated positions on next steps and that partners have emphasized that "Ukraine is now in the strongest position on the battlefield in the past year and has become a reliable security provider for Europe and other regions."

"Our teams are already working on preparing a Drone Deal, and we expect an operational result," he added. Zelenskyy thanked Finland for support of NATO’s PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program, saying it "helps save lives in Ukraine, especially amid the heavy Russian air strikes like today," and expressed personal thanks to Stubb for a "principled and consistent" stance in support of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also met with Polish President Karol Nawrocki. He said they had substantive talks on bilateral relations and agreed those ties should be "truly strong and neighborly." Zelenskyy said he informed Nawrocki about Ukraine's diplomatic work and noted the importance of unity between Europe and the United States He thanked Poland and the Polish people for their support during Russia's full-scale aggression; the Polish president "confirmed that support for Ukraine will continue," Zelenskyy said, adding that he values the constructive dialogue.
