Fire ignites at Chekhov Regenerative Plant in Moscow Oblast after drone strike

The territory of the Chekhov Regenerative Plant (ChRZ) in Moscow Oblast caught fire following a drone attack, an OSINT analysis published by Astra revealed on July 28.

The analysis showed that tires ignited near the boiler house at the ChRZ facility in Chekhov.

The head of the city confirmed the incident, stating that "a rubber fire occurred on the territory of ChRZ."

Chekhov Regenerative Plant specializes in recycling worn automobile tires, producing tire regenerate, rubber crumbs, rubber powder, and various industrial rubber products. According to company data, it ranks among Russia's largest manufacturers in this sector, producing over 600 types of industrial rubber items alongside recycled materials.

Astra reported that Chekhov Hydrostalkonstruktsiya plant (ZAT Hydrostalkonstruktsiya) is located 800 meters from the fire site. That enterprise manufactures hydromechanical equipment, steel structures, and components for energy and water management facilities.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed that Russian air defense forces downed at least 81 drones flying toward the Russian capital.
