The airport, which also serves as an air base for the Danish Air Force, halted flights as a safety precaution. Police confirmed that several drones were spotted but said there was no danger to passengers or local residents.
Because of the incident, three passenger flights were redirected to other airports.
Police stressed there was no confirmation yet that these UAVs were the same as those seen in Copenhagen earlier this week, but said they appeared to be “using a similar pattern.”
On the night of Sept. 23, Copenhagen Airport was forced to suspend operations for several hours after drones entered its restricted airspace. The origin of the drones has not yet been established.
Immediately after, Norway temporarily closed the airspace over Oslo Airport due to unidentified drones. Flights bound for Oslo were rerouted to other airports.
