Mass drone attack targets missile and aircraft component factories in Penza - video

Missile alert was declared in the city before sirens began to wail.
Penza residents reported hearing a series of explosions. Local authorities claimed that air defense systems were actively engaging the drones.
According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, heavy smoke was detected near the State Bearing Plant following the attack. Serhii Sternenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian defense minister, later confirmed this information.
Supernova Telegram channel reported that smoke was also observed in the vicinity of the Penza Research Institute of Electronic-Mechanical Instruments. Attacks were additionally reported against the Mayak enterprise.
Reports also indicated that the Research Institute of Physical Measurements (NIIFI) came under fire.
The enterprise manufactures pressure sensors, displacement sensors, and measuring systems for aviation and missile technology. Its products are utilized in the engines and control systems of Su-34 and Su-57 aircraft, as well as in the production of Kh-101 and Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A cruise missiles and strategic missile systems, Supernova noted.
The institute operates under the structure of Roscosmos and is under U.S. and Ukrainian sanctions.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that it managed to "shoot down" 121 UAVs. The official statement claimed that the drones were destroyed over Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Smolensk, Rostov, Ryazan, Tambov, Tver, Moscow, and Tula oblasts, Krasnodar Krai, occupied Crimea, and over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
