Emergency power outages continue in Odesa after damage to energy system

“Because of the lack of electricity in Odesa for more than two weeks, unfortunately, electric public transport has been idle,” Kiper wrote.
He said that overnight the Defense Forces worked to ensure residents of Odesa could sleep safely. The head of the Odesa regional administration added that municipal services were cleaning the city, treating roads with de-icing agents and removing trees felled by gusty winds.
Russian invaders have been striking Odesa Oblast almost continuously for more than two weeks, targeting energy facilities and port infrastructure.
On the night of Dec. 30 in Odesa, an explosion was heard during an air raid alert after a warning of a ballistic missile threat.
