Russian forces carried out drone and bomb strikes on industrial and port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast on Dec. 26 and overnight into Saturday, damaging grain transport equipment at an elevator facility, regional governor Oleh Kiper said on Dec. 27.

According to Kiper, one of the drones also fell on the grounds of a vegetable oil production facility, but no damage was reported there.

No casualties were reported in the region, the regional administration said. Ukrainian air defenses shot down most of the Russian drones targeting Odesa Oblast, Kiper added.

Separately, Odesa City Military Administration head Serhii Lysak said the night in the city passed without incident. All critical systems remained operational, although electric public transport was temporarily suspended.

Earlier on Dec. 26, Russian forces also struck port and energy infrastructure in Odesa and the surrounding region overnight. Those attacks sparked fires and damaged administrative buildings, equipment, and vehicles.

Russia launched another large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine overnight into Dec. 27, with Kyiv and the surrounding region believed to be the primary targets. Authorities reported 19 people injured in the capital, along with major fires and destruction.
