“Our priority remains the reliable, stable, and safe operation of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants, which guarantees the country’s energy security,” the company wrote.
Energoatom highlighted it has already begun preparations for planned preventive maintenance of reactor units in 2026 — a “strategic effort” aimed at further improving equipment reliability and ensuring stable plant operations in the future.
“Separately, we note that the incident did not harm the assets or financial condition of Energoatom and did not affect production plans or the safe operation of nuclear plants,” the statement read.
The company earlier responded to corruption allegations involving company personnel: the supervisory board will convene a special meeting, initiate an independent review of operations, and audit internal procedures and control systems.
On the morning of Nov. 10, Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources, reported NABU searches involving businessman Tymur Mindich, a co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio and a longtime associate of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The outlet said Mindich left Ukraine a few hours before the searches.
Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak said searches also targeted Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko (a former energy minister) and Energoatom. He added that Mykhailo and Oleksandr Zukerman, figures in the Mindich-related case, urgently left Ukraine.
Later, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) confirmed they uncovered a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector whose participants built an influence network over Energoatom, but provided no further details. According to NV’s sources, the searches involving Mindich and Halushchenko are part of the same energy-corruption case.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted, stressing that transparency at the energy company is a priority and that all those involved in corrupt schemes must be held accountable.
