An overnight drone attack reportedly targeted an electrical substation in Russia’s Vladimir Oblast and the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl, one of the largest refineries in central Russia, the Astra Telegram channel reported early on Oct. 31.

Videos circulating on social media show a drone striking the electrical substation in the village of Energetik and sparking a large fire.

The Vladimir substation, rated at 750 kV, is one of the largest and most powerful in Europe. It is a strategic node in Russia’s Unified Energy System, supplying power to the Central Federal District, including Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, and parts of the Ivanovo oblast.
