The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, began his Monday morning on Nov. 11 in a shelter in his visit to Kyiv as Russia launched another missile attack.

Borrell arrived in Kyiv on November 9 for his fifth visit since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion and his last as the EU's top diplomat.

“Starting my day in Kyiv in a shelter as Russia carries out another missile strike,” Borrell wrote on X.

He noted that this has been the daily reality for Ukrainians since the full-scale Russian invasion began.

At 6:52 a.m., an air raid alert was declared across Ukraine due to the takeoff of Russian MiG-31K aircraft and the threat of missile launches from Tu-95MS strategic bombers over the Caspian Sea. The alert lasted until 9:00 a.m.

Overnight, Kyiv's air defenses detected and intercepted around a dozen Russian drones through various means, with the air raid in the capital lasting four and a half hours.
