He detailed the specifics of last night's massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv.
“There’s nothing unusual here," Zhyrohov explained.
"This is a standard Russian tactic of terrorizing the civilian population. They deliberately struck civilian targets. Right now, they’re trying to undermine support for the army and break morale, so that Ukrainian society becomes ready for any negotiations, at any cost — just to make the attacks stop.”
He noted that Russia has used similar tactics since the war for Ichkeria — now Russian-occupied Chechnya — when it bombed Grozny.
“Unfortunately, these strikes will continue,” he concluded.
On the night of June 17, Russia launched one of its most brutal airstrikes against Kyiv.
Twenty-seven sites were hit, fires broke out, and one section of a residential building was destroyed.
As of 8 a.m., there were reports of 14 dead and more than 55 injured. People may still be trapped under the rubble.
This is the same building in Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district where a ballistic missile tore through all nine floors.
“A direct hit,” said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
That same night, Russia also heavily attacked Odesa, injuring 13 people and causing significant damage to residential and civilian infrastructure.
