The first explosions occurred around 1 a.m. local time, with approximately four blasts reported near the village of Dyadkovo and ten near the settlement of Pesochnya. Shortly after, loud noises were also heard in Ryazan itself. According to Russian sources, drones attempted to strike the refinery, resulting in a fire at the facility.
Ryazan Oblast Governor Pavel Malkov stated that all drones were intercepted by air defense and electronic warfare systems. He confirmed that no casualties had been reported but noted that the extent of the material damage is still being assessed. Emergency services remain on-site.
Meanwhile, footage circulating on Russian social media shows fire and smoke at the refinery, suggesting damage despite official claims of successful drone interception.
