Residents of the city reported at least two powerful explosions.
The plant produces batteries and power modules for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), guided bombs, aviation, the navy, radio equipment, as well as lithium-ion and mercury-zinc cells for use in communication, control, electronic warfare (EW) systems and simulators for tanks and missile systems.
Energia also produces electrochemical capacitors for the Russian Defense Ministry and light-optical power plants that provide an autonomous power supply. It is also a major supplier to Roscosmos, the Internal Ministry, the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Emergency Situations Ministry, and Gazprom.
Energia is under sanctions from the European Union, the United States, Japan, and others.
Previous drone attacks on the plant were carried out in late May and early July.
