Russian air defense allegedly shot down at least 20 drones moving toward the aggressor country's capital, the city's mayor asserts.
"Emergency services specialists are working at the site of the falling debris," he wrote on his Telegram.
Operations at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports were temporarily suspended due to the drone attack.
Over 450 flights were delayed and canceled at the aggressor country's capital airports earlier, with local authorities claiming it was due to "Ukrainian drone attacks."
May 9 truce
Russian Defense Ministry announced on May 4 that a "ceasefire is declared" for May 8 and May 9, and threatened massive strikes on the center of Kyiv if Ukraine tries to "disrupt the Victory Day celebrations."
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported in response that Ukraine did not receive any official requests for a ceasefire, but was declaring a regime of silence starting May 6.
Russia disrupted the ceasefire by attacking Ukrainian cities, and Ukraine will act symmetrically, he stated on May 6.
A UAV attack on a number of Russian regions, including Moscow, Tver oblasts, and Perm Krai, was reported on May 7. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed the "interception" of UAVs flying toward the Russian capital and falling of "debris."
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova later voiced new manipulative threats against Ukraine amid the drone attack on Moscow Oblast and the Kremlin's desire to hold the May 9 parade.
Zakharova stated at a briefing that "Kyiv could suffer a massive missile strike" in the event of a UAV attack on the Russian capital on May 9, according to Russian propaganda media.
