According to Zelenskyy, over the past week, Russian forces have launched around 140 missiles of various types, more than 900 guided aerial bombs, and over 600 attack drones.
"Right now, we're working to deal with the aftermath of the combined attack on our infrastructure in Rivne, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn, and Odesa regions," Zelenskyy said. "Once again, Russian terrorists are trying to scare us with cold and darkness, repeating their actions in hopes of breaking us. But the whole world sees and knows that we are defending against absolute evil, which understands no language but force. We need unity; the world needs unity. Only together can we stop this evil."
Russia’s Nov. 17 attack on Ukraine
During the night and morning of Nov. 17, Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy generation and transmission facilities, deploying a variety of missiles and drones.
Explosions were reported in Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, and Kryvyi Rih.
Emergency power outages were put in place in Kyiv and several regions following the morning strikes. In Vinnytsia Oblast, critical infrastructure was hit, and Russian forces also shelled key infrastructure in Rivne Oblast.
Zaporizhzhya endured three strikes from Russian aggressors.
In Lviv Oblast, Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the regional administration, said falling missile debris sparked a fire in the Sheptytskyi District, igniting garages and a car.
According to Ukraine's Air Force, Russian occupiers used 210 missiles and drones in the attack. Air defense forces managed to destroy 144 of those targets.
