Finnish president visits Kyiv for talks with Zelenskyy

Updated at 11:40. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he has already met with Stubb. The two leaders honored Ukrainian soldiers at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv.

Stubb planed to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss security-related initiatives, European integration, infrastructure investment, and security guarantees for Ukraine.

The leaders will also talk about increasing pressure on the aggressor state, Russia, and further sanctions.

Yermak noted that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Finland has provided Ukraine with 29 military aid packages, as well as financial and humanitarian assistance.

On Aug. 27, Stubb and Zelenskyy held a phone call, after which the Finnish president confirmed continued work on security guarantees for Ukraine.
