Ukrainian Defense Forces strike Yaroslavl oil refinery using FP-1 drones - video

Yaroslavl Oil Refinery (Slavneft-YANOS) ranks among Russia's largest oil processing facilities and serves as a critical asset for the Russian refining industry, Fire Point wrote.

The plant boasts an annual processing capacity of approximately 15 million metric tons of crude oil, producing gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and other petroleum products crucial for supplying the aggressor state's fuel needs.

According to Astra, the plant has been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian strikes, catching fire at least six times earlier in 2026: on July 16, July 6, May 22, May 8, April 26, and March 28.

Yaroslavl Oblast Governor Mikhail Yevrayev claimed that local air defenses "repelled the most massive UAV attack" on the oblast, asserting that "all 88 drones were destroyed" with no casualties reported.

He claimed that one private home burned down, windows were shattered in several apartment buildings, and local residents' vehicles sustained damage. Meanwhile, authorities closed Moskovsky Avenue in the regional capital to clear drone debris.

Explosions rocked Yaroslavl overnight on Aug. 6. According to eyewitnesses, several private homes caught fire following air defense activity.
