The incident took place on Jan. 3. The driver of an Audi, displaying clear signs of drug intoxication, veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Volkswagen on French Boulevard in Odesa. Fortunately, there were no injuries, the police reported.
After causing the accident, the driver barricaded himself inside his locked car to evade law enforcement. However, officers eventually managed to detain him.
In a preliminary search, police discovered a package containing a suspected narcotic substance, along with a dummy grenade. Investigators were called to the scene for further examination.
The driver was charged with administrative offenses and was subsequently taken to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC), as he was found to be wanted for violating military registration rules under Article 210 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
