Invading Russian forces continue to batter Ukrainian positions along the southern and eastern fronts on the 183rd day of Ukraine’s defense against a full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine’s General Staff reported in their morning update on Facebook on Aug. 25.

In the south, Russian shelling, from both artillery and tanks, is directed at Ukrainian positions and civil infrastructure on the contact line.

A Russian airstrike was recorded near the village of Bila Krynytsya, 100 km north of the city of Kherson on the administrative border between Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.

On the eastern front, Russian forces attempted an offensive from occupied Kharkiv Oblast south into Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk Oblast north of Slovyansk, near the administrative border villages of Pasika and Dolyna, but were forced back.

Russian shelling struck villages throughout Izyum region, while Izyum itself remains under occupation.
