“After today’s shelling, there is now an even greater electricity shortage in the capital, including for critical infrastructure,” Klitschko said.
According to him, energy workers are operating in an intensified mode, but the condition of the power system remains extremely difficult.
He also stressed that about 500 high-rise buildings are currently without heating, and emergency crews are carrying out restoration work around the clock.
Separately, Klitschko dismissed rumors about the closure of major supermarket chains due to power outages, saying the information is not true.
Earlier, it was reported that emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast following Russia’s overnight attack.
Energy infrastructure was damaged there, and scheduled outage timetables are currently not in effect.
