Russian forces unleashed a combined assault on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and strike UAVs, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Feb. 26.

The brutal attack resulted in significant damage as air defenses intercepted the incoming aerial targets.

Darnytskyi district: Debris from an intercepted missile shattered windows and doors of a first-floor apartment in a nine-story residential building. No casualties were reported at this location.

Holosiivskyi district: Falling debris ignited a row of garages. Emergency crews managed to localize the blaze.

Pechersk district: A private house caught fire following a direct hit from falling fragments. The fire has since been extinguished.

Dniprovskyi district: City Military Administration Head Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that a commercial building housing a shop was also damaged in the strike.

Tkachenko added that a two-story private residence in the Pechersk district and a private building in Holosiivskyi were both engulfed in flames.

"We are verifying information regarding casualties," he said.
