A fire broke out in warehouse buildings in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district during the alert, the Kyiv City Military Administration said. Emergency services were heading to the scene.
Monitoring channels also reported a large fire in Kyiv Oblast.
Ukraine’s Air Force warned that jet-powered drones were heading toward Kyiv from the east. Earlier, it had reported a jet-powered UAV flying toward the capital past Brovary, followed by drones over the city moving southwest.
Air-raid alerts were also declared in Bucha, Vyshhorod and Boryspil districts of Kyiv Oblast.
The alerts came after several previous warnings in Kyiv since the beginning of the day.
Russian forces have been attacking Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast with drones almost continuously since Aug. 27. Explosions were again heard in the capital overnight on Aug. 31.
Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with one Kh-59 guided air-launched missile and 121 Shahed attack drones, most of them jet-powered, the Air Force said.
Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 96 drones.
