Lithuania to send €50 million more in aid to Ukraine by year’s end

"Additionally, it will be around €40-50 million this year," Kasčiūnas told reporters.

Lithuania plans to invest €10 million in Ukraine for the production of Palanytsia drone missiles and provide radars, demining equipment, and short-range air defense systems.

In 2024, Lithuania has already supplied Ukraine with €153 million in aid and will allocate at least 0.25% of its GDP annually for military assistance, about €190 million, according to LRT. Since the war began, Lithuania has provided aid amounting to 2% of its GDP.

Kasčiūnas emphasized that Lithuania’s support prioritizes minimal use of its army’s resources with mandatory compensation, planning for Ukraine's future needs, and promoting Lithuania’s defense industry.

On Sept. 11, Lithuania and Ukraine signed a defense cooperation memorandum, and by mid-September, Lithuania was considering purchasing short-range anti-aircraft missile systems for Ukraine, with a decision expected soon.
