The goals of the avenger operation were successfully achieved.
On April 16, Russian Telegram channels posted numerous photos and videos showing a fire that broke out in Shuya following the overnight drone attack. Residents reported hearing explosions, and videos circulated online showing drones flying over the town and an explosion, followed by a column of smoke rising above the town.
On April 15, Ukrainian forces carried out a coordinated drone attack on military targets in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, targeting units linked to the devastating April 13 missile attack on Sumy that killed 35 people and injured 117 others.
HUR chief Kyrylo Budanov said the Russians launched two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at the city. The strikes were carried out by Russia’s 112th and 448th missile brigades from the Liski area in Voronezh Oblast and the Lezhenky area in Kursk Oblast.
The Ukrainian General Staff vowed a “harsh” response.
