Russia pounds Odesa Oblast with drones, hits power grid and vessels

Russian forces launched a massive Shahed drone strike on Odesa Oblast, damaging energy and port infrastructure — including several civilian vessels, regional governor Oleh Kiper reported on Nov. 17.
Explosions shook multiple cities across Oblast overnight.
One person was injured.

State Emergency Service wrote the strikes caused fires at energy facilities and in the port area. Emergency crews are working to restore power and contain the damage.
Earlier in the night, multiple explosions were reported in Izmail, Odesa Oblast, as air raid sirens warned of incoming strike drones.
At the same time, Russia struck the city of Balakliia in Kharkiv Oblast. Missiles hit a densely built residential district, killing at least three people and injuring 13 others, including four children.
