Moldova shuts down Russian cultural center over airspace breach / The New Voice of Ukraine

In response to Russian drones violating Moldova's airspace, the Moldovan government is shutting down the Russian Cultural Center in Chisinau, Moldova’s Foreign Ministry announced on Feb. 13.

Additionally, the ministry summoned the Russian ambassador to present him with the remains of the drones.

Following the incident on Feb. 12, when drone fragments fell in the Taraclia district, the ministry decided to close the Russian Cultural Center. In a statement, it was noted that Moldova is unilaterally terminating the 1998 intergovernmental agreement with Russia regarding the establishment and operation of cultural centers.

The Russian Science and Culture Center has been operating in Chișinău since February 2009. It focused on promoting Russian culture, education, science, supporting Russian-speaking communities, preserving historical heritage, and facilitating youth exchanges, reports Moldovan outlet NewsMaker.
