Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad smuggled drones into Iranian territory before carrying out air strikes on key elements of Iran’s military infrastructure, CNN reported on June 13, citing an Israeli security official.

The official said a base was established on Iranian soil to launch UAVs, which were activated to target missile installations near Tehran while the Israeli Air Force was unleashing a barrage of missiles.

Another official said Israel secretly transported “precision weapons” into Iran and placed them near air defense installations. Some of the strike systems were reportedly mounted on vehicles.

Earlier, Fox News cited an Israeli security official who said that Israeli intelligence lured senior Iranian air force commanders to a meeting before striking the site with missiles.

Israel’s Operation Strength of a Lion, involving 200 fighter jets and over 330 munitions targeting 100 targets, including Iran’s nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories, and military sites, began on June 13.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue until objectives are met.

Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatened Israel and the United States with a "tough response" for the night strikes.
