“This is an unmanned platform, actually a copy of NATO models,” he said.

“NATO countries have about three or four such models, which are not primarily intended for strikes, but for reconnaissance, observation, cargo delivery, and possibly the delivery of some sabotage groups. So it is a pretty big drone.”

The Stalker 5.0 is “a simplified and cheaper version. Because our war makes adjustments, we have completely different budget than NATO countries.” Still, Ukraine is making serious progress in its capabilities and capacities.

“All the maritime drones, both Magura and Sea Baby, have proven to be very good and very effective. I am more than sure that the Stalker will also prove itself. I think we will see it in action in the near future.”

The drone measures 5 meters in length and 1.2 meters in width. It is designed for various missions, including reconnaissance and coastal patrol operations in marine and riverine border areas.

Stalker 5.0 features a specialized compartment and therefore is capable of transporting water, food, military equipment, and other cargos to islands or coastal areas where Ukrainian Defense Forces are deployed.

Powered by a 60-horsepower outboard gasoline engine, the drone can achieve speeds exceeding 40 knots (approximately 75 km/h, or 46 mph), with a cruising speed of 30 knots (55 km/h, or 34 mph).

Equipped with a communication and control system based on Starlink technology, the cost of a single unit is around EUR 60,000 ($64,000).
