Drapatyi announces first visit of NATO Military Committee to Ukraine in eight years

Drapatyi shared the announcement on Facebook, noting that he held his first telephone consultation with Chair of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone. The commander-in-chief expressed gratitude to the Alliance representative for consistent support, emphasizing that the admiral has already visited Ukraine three times and possesses a deep understanding of the operational reality on the ground.

According to Drapatyi, he briefed the admiral on the frontline situation and the Ukrainian military’s primary capability requirements, focusing on long-range strike assets, modern infantry tactics, and the accelerated development of robotic combat systems.

The military chiefs also placed substantial focus on bolstering air defense systems, which Drapatyi identified as one of his highest operational priorities.

"Ukraine does not merely receive support. We are passing on combat experience that no one else possesses today, and it actively strengthens the security of the entire Alliance," the commander-in-chief emphasized.

NATO Military Committee serves as the Alliance’s senior military authority, comprised of the Chiefs of Defense of all NATO member nations or their permanent military representatives. The body advises the North Atlantic Council on defense and military policy and directs the strategic coordination of the Alliance's military affairs.
