His post follows his meeting with Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein) meeting.
"I was pleased to meet with my Dutch counterpart," he wrote.
The Ukrainian minister expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its consistent and substantial support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), which has already greatly contributed to bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
"A key topic of discussion was investing in joint defense projects," Umerov said.
"A particularly crucial area is the production of long-range drones. We analyzed how to make this process as effective as possible and reviewed the best mechanisms for direct funding."
The ministers also considered the possibility of using revenues from frozen Russian assets to fund drone component production. Umerov stressed this could become a highly effective tool for bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
"Another crucial issue discussed was strengthening our air defense systems," he added.
"The Netherlands will provide aid in the near future that will significantly improve our ability to protect Ukrainian skies."
Umerov concluded by thanking the Netherlands for its support, proactive stance, and unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s security.
