It remains unclear when U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian officials, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on April 14.

“No, we have not received any information about when they will come,” Zelenskyy said during a joint news conference with Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre in Oslo.

“They told me at the very beginning of April, April 1 or 2. It was a positive conversation and they confirmed that they would come. I think it is fair that they come to us because they have been to Moscow many times, and it is also important to send that signal to our people who are enduring. So we are waiting for them.”

Zelenskyy suggested the United States remains focused on the Middle East but said that it is important for Ukraine to continue engage in the trilateral Ukraine–U.S.–Russia peace talks.

“In any case, it is important for us to continue dialogue with Americans, Europeans, and in a trilateral format with the Russians,” he stated.
