Ukraine's SBU nabs Odesa-based accountant for assisting Russian strikes

The SBU claims that the arrested woman is an agent of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) who was preparing coordinates for a new series of missile and drone strikes on Odesa.

According to the SBU, the enemy was particularly interested in the locations of checkpoints with armored vehicles and mobile fire groups of air defense systems.

"To spot the air strikes, the Russian special service remotely recruited an accountant from a local factory who fell into the aggressor's field of view due to her anti-Ukrainian posts on Telegram," the statement reads.

“Following the occupiers' instructions, the agent traveled around the city on public transport and video recorded the locations of Ukrainian defenders.”

After reconnaissance trips, the woman reportedly prepared a report for the FSB, including marking information on Google Maps.

The SBU noted that the woman was exposed and her reconnaissance activities were documented. She was arrested during the final stage of the special operation. Additionally, comprehensive measures were taken to secure the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

During searches at the suspect's residence, a mobile phone was found with evidence of her reconnaissance and subversive activities on behalf of the FSB, including photos and videos of defense and communication objects, as well as communications with Russian special services.

The detained woman has been indicted under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for treason committed during wartime. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
