According to investigators, the suspect, abusing his official position and having access to the property of a military unit, illegally appropriated equipment intended for defense needs from June 2023 to September 2025. Investigators said the equipment that disappeared from the warehouse and was not used for defense included unmanned aerial vehicles, photographic equipment and ground control stations, including:
54 sets of DJI Mavic 3 Pro and DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise M3E drones,
seven sets of DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise UAV systems,
two sets of Sony RX1 cameras,
two sets of Sony Alpha A7R FullFrame E-mount cameras,
a laptop and monitor for the VALK-1 unmanned aerial complex,
two sets of laptops — a mobile APC playback device and a video data recorder from the Leleka-100 UAV system.
“The suspect disposed of this equipment at his own discretion. Through an online classifieds service he sold military property to civilians, volunteers and even pawned some of it,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
The shortage was discovered during an inventory of the warehouse. As a result, according to law enforcement officials, the state suffered losses of about 5.5 million hryvnias.
The warehouse chief was notified of suspicion of stealing military property through abuse of office committed under martial law (Part 4, Article 410 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code). The suspect was detained and placed in pretrial custody with the alternative of posting bail set at 5.4 million hryvnias. The charge carries a penalty of 10 to 15 years in prison.
