The SBU arrested a man in Odesa for allegedly preparing coordinates for upcoming Russian missile and drone strikes, the agency reported on Sept. 16.

The investigation revealed that a 63-year-old Odesa resident was recruited remotely by Russian intelligence and paid to gather information.

The SBU said he photographed military sites while pretending to walk around the city and sent the images via email to the Russians.

The main targets were temporary bases of the National Police "Lut" combined assault brigade and mobile anti-aircraft units in Odesa.

He was caught in the act while scouting near a military facility.

During a search of his apartment, authorities seized a phone and computer used to communicate with Russian handlers.

He has been charged with treason under martial law, facing life imprisonment and asset confiscation.

The court has ordered him held in custody.
