Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale
invasion, the number of people reported missing
in Ukraine has quadrupled to 50,150, Deputy Head of Ukraine’s National Police,
Andrii Nebytov, said on March 28.
He specified that as of Feb. 24, 2022, 12,292 persons were considered missing in the country.
"Since the invasion began, the count of the missing has risen four times: currently, there are 50,150 persons unaccounted for," said Nebytov.
The official added that ongoing hostilities, Russian bombardments of Ukrainian cities, and occupation make gathering and verifying missing persons reports more challenging.
Nebytov said that the police are fully engaged and remain committed to resolving each case.
