He also assured that his office “has facts and evidence” to support this claim.

“Russia deliberately attacked Poland — we have facts and evidence confirming this. It was a planned provocation, coordinated with a disinformation campaign. Downplaying this truth strengthens the Russian narrative. Every word that undermines the fact that we faced a deliberate act supports Russian disinformation. Disinformation is also an element of war,” he said.

Hawkowski added that disinformation contains elements of truth, but “the entire sequence created from these notes is never true.”

“There are notes of truth in disinformation, but the entire sequence created from them is never true. It is constructed to harm the state — it is a tool for spreading unrest and inflaming emotions. We must call things by their names, reveal evidence, verify sources and educate society so it does not fall prey to manipulation,” he emphasized.

Russian drone attack on Poland, Sept. 10
On Sept. 10, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said 19 Russian drones were detected in Polish airspace overnight, many of them entering from Belarus. Four drones were reportedly shot down. The Interior Ministry also reported finding debris from an unidentified missile.

One drone crashed into a residential building in the village of Wyrzyki-Wola in Lublin province, damaging the property but causing no casualties.

NATO invoked Article 4, which provides for consultations among member states in the event of a threat to one of them. At the same time, the alliance said the incursion of Russian drones into Poland was not considered an attack but was deliberate.

Foreign ministers of the Lublin Triangle — Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland — condemned the unprecedented Russian drone strike on Poland and called for strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and NATO’s eastern flank.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Russian drone intrusion into Polish airspace may have been an attempt by Moscow to test the readiness of Ukraine’s partners.

He also noted that Russia’s drone attack on Polish territory “psychologically” resembles the situation with Crimea.
