Debris from downed Russian drone crashes into Kyiv high-rise

Combined Russian attack caused damage in three locations across Kyiv, with the capital's left bank being a key target, City Military Administration reported on Feb. 12.

The National Police confirmed that Russian forces deliberately targeted the capital's left bank. In a particularly harrowing incident in the Darnytskyi district, explosive ordnance disposal teams removed the jet engine of a drone that crashed directly into an apartment.

Damage and Casualties

  • Dniprovskyi District: The facade of a nine-story residential building and parked cars were damaged. At a separate address, debris from an aerial target fell into a courtyard, causing no destruction.

  • Darnytskyi District: The facade of a 16-story building was partially damaged, and windows were blown out. The city officials clarified that initial reports of damage to a private house were incorrect.

Two people were injured in the attack—a 45-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. Both were hospitalized.

Explosions rang out across the city as Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones at the capital. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported strikes on infrastructure facilities and noted impacts in the Holosiivskyi district on the right bank as well.
