Russian dictator Vladimir Putin again threatened Armenia with a “Ukrainian scenario” over its pursuit of European integration after the Eurasian Economic Union summit in Astana, The Moscow Times reported on May 29.

Speaking at a press conference, Putin drew parallels between Armenia’s current position and events in Ukraine, claiming that the “crisis in Ukraine” began with Kyiv’s attempts to move toward European integration.

Putin also threatened NATO countries over possible actions involving Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast.

Commenting on remarks by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys about the alliance’s ability to strike Russian military facilities in the region, the Kremlin chief said Russia had the means to respond harshly.

“The Russian Federation has all the means to raze to the ground those who try to do this,” Putin said.
