The rescuer, holding the animal in his arms, said the cat will be taken to a psychological support center because it's quieter there. After that, the rescuers will continue efforts to locate its owners.

“These stories about pets always touch the heart," the rescuer said.

"In mass emergencies like this, either the animals perish while their owners survive — or the opposite. But we often have cases where the owners are safely evacuated, and later their pets are found. The reunions are incredibly emotional.”

In the early hours of April 24, air raid alerts were declared across all Ukrainian oblastsc due to launches of Tu-95MS bombers, Kalibr missiles, and waves of Shahed drones.

In Kyiv, the ballistic attack killed eight people and injured 77.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported falling debris in the Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Podilskyi districts of the capital.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, the Russian strike caused a fire and partial collapse of a residential building. People remain trapped under the debris, and rescue operations are ongoing.

Ukraine’s Air Force data indicated that Russia launched 215 aerial targets overnight — including missiles launched from air, sea, and land, along with Shahed-131/136 attack drones. Ukrainian defense forces shot down 112 of them.
