At least 29 flights were canceled at the airport, dozens of others were delayed, and some aircraft were redirected to alternate airfields, according to Russian media. Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) also reported the temporary restrictions.
The governor of Leningrad Oblast announced the threat of UAVs in the oblast's airspace, while Russian sources reported air defense operations and the downing of drones.
Separately, Rosgvardia stated that its special forces destroyed a drone that allegedly attacked Belgorod Oblast governor Vyacheslav Gladkov during his meeting with residents.
There were no casualties or damage according to the Russian side, TASS and Russian media wrote, though this remains solely a Russian claim.
