Russia launches massive strikes on Naftogaz facilities in Kharkiv and Poltava

Several critically important infrastructure facilities were hit simultaneously in the attack.

The Russian strikes caused severe damage to equipment and triggered major fires at the sites.

According to Serhii Koretskyi, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, personnel were evacuated. He said it was not yet possible to assess the full extent of the damage because of the threat of repeated strikes.

On May 19, Naftogaz reported a missile strike by Russian forces on oil and gas infrastructure in Chernihiv Oblast. The missile strike occurred late on May 19 after Russian drones targeted Naftogaz facilities earlier in the day.

On the evening of May 18, Koretskyi reported a massive Russian attack on the company’s oil and gas infrastructure facilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

On May 5, Russia launched missile and drone attacks on Poltava Oblast. According to regional authorities, four people were killed, including two emergency service workers and two employees of a Naftogaz gas production facility.
