Rescuers extinguished a fire in an administrative building in Poltava after a Russian overnight attack on May 23, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported.
The second and third floors of the building caught fire as a result of the Russian strike. No casualties were reported.

Explosions were reported in the Poltava district overnight as air defenses were operating, Poltava Oblast Governor Vitaliy Diakyvnych said earlier in the morning.

Ukraine’s Air Force had warned of drones heading toward the region.
Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones overnight and in the morning on May 23. Air alerts were also declared in Kyiv, where explosions were heard.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 124 drones overnight, with Ukrainian air defenses neutralizing 102 of them.
