Casualties reported as Russians launch missile strike at bridge in Odesa Oblast
According to the Ukrainian military, a tourist facility was hit as a result of the missile attack, which was launched from Russian strategic bombers. A fire broke out in the premises, and rescue teams are working at the scene, a Ukrainian military report reads.
"The enemy continues to attack the damaged and non-functioning bridge across the Dniester estuary," reads the report.
"But it is hitting civilians. According to preliminary data, two adults were injured, and a small child was seriously injured. Other information is being verified."
The bridge over the Dniester River estuary near the village of Zatoka was shelled on April 26. Later on April 27, the Russian military launched another missile strike, destroying it.
Railway traffic on the bridge was resumed on April 28. However, the Russians hit the bridge for a third time on May 2, causing additional damage to the structure.
