Russia drops fake banknote leaflets over Chernihiv urging locals to aid attacks

The counterfeit “banknotes” promised real money in exchange for providing targeting information to occupation forces.
Police warned that collaborating with Russia or sharing the locations of Ukrainian troops carries criminal liability under Ukrainian law. Authorities urged residents to destroy the leaflets immediately.
An investigative team was dispatched to the site, and the incident is being reviewed for legal classification.
Just days earlier, on Sept. 4, Russian troops launched a missile strike on a checkpoint at the entrance to Novoselivka near Chernihiv. According to the regional military administration, the attack targeted humanitarian demining workers, killing two people and injuring five.
