Russia hits Mykolaiv with Shahed drones, homes damaged, outages reported

Russia attacked Mykolaiv with Shahed drones, damaging homes and a car, regional governor Vitaliy Kim said on Apr. 30.

A multi-apartment building and a two-story private house were damaged in the shelling, with no casualties reported, the regional administration said.

Power outages were also recorded across the region following a nighttime drone attack and damage to energy infrastructure. Settlements in the Mykolaiv and Bashtanka districts were left without electricity, and crews are gradually restoring supply, regional governor Vitaliy Kim said.

According to the regional administration, five people were injured in the overnight attack.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said large fires broke out at energy facilities in the Mykolaiv region, with firefighters, chemical response teams and deminers involved in extinguishing the blazes.

Overnight, Russia attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and 206 drones, with air defenses downing 172. In Odesa, 18 people were reported injured in the mass strike.

Later on Wednesday, Russia struck Dnipro and Chernihiv, with injuries reported.
