Russia launches mass drone attack on Odesa Oblast, one injured

A nonresidential building caught fire in Odesa as a result of the Russian attack.

"Unfortunately, a 41-year-old man was injured. He sustained shrapnel wounds and is in satisfactory condition," regional Gov. Oleh Kiper said.

In Chornomorsk, residential buildings, a gas pipeline and a building on the grounds of a church were damaged.

Two cargo trucks were also damaged.

Residential buildings in the Chornomorsk community also sustained damage.

"There were no injuries," Kiper said.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service released photos showing the aftermath of the attack.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 236 drones overnight into June 7, including Shahed attack drones, Gerbera and Italmas drones, and Parodiya decoy drones.

Preliminary data showed that, as of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 215 drones. Hits by 17 drones were recorded at 13 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at nine locations.

The Air Force warned that the attack was still ongoing, with several Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
