Russia launches overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said debris from intercepted targets caused damage in several areas. In the Darnytskyi district, the blast wave shattered windows and doors in an apartment on the first floor of a nine-story residential building. No fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.

In the Holosiivskyi district, falling debris sparked a fire in garages, which emergency crews quickly contained. In the Pecherskyi district, a private home caught fire. The blaze was extinguished.

Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko said a nine-story residential building was also damaged in Darnytskyi district, but there were no casualties. In the Dniprovskyi district, a store building sustained damage.

Fires also broke out on the grounds of a private property in Holosiivskyi district and in a two-story private house in Pecherskyi district, Tkachenko said, adding that officials were verifying information about possible injuries.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service later confirmed damage in three districts of the capital and said no casualties had been reported as of the morning.

Air raid alerts were declared and lifted several times in Kyiv during the early hours.

The overnight assault was part of a broader Russian attack across Ukraine involving missiles and drones. Authorities reported destruction and injuries in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih.
