Beyond personnel losses, the Russian military has also suffered the following equipment losses:

Russia’s losses in Ukraine
In early January 2025, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported that 430,790 Russian troops had been eliminated in 2024 alone — equivalent to nearly 36 motorized rifle divisions of the Russian army.
On Feb. 15, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the Munich Security Conference that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had lost almost 250,000 troops in battle, with over 610,000 wounded.
By Feb. 24, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi confirmed that Russia’s irreversible military losses had reached 250,000 soldiers since the start of the full-scale war.
On Feb. 27, former CIA Director David Petraeus told NV that Russia’s military has suffered such devastating losses that any other country would already require a significant operational pause in warfare.
"But again, when a country has lost 800,000 troops, of which about 500,000 never returned from the battlefield — either killed or gravely wounded — it is such a staggering loss that I am still trying to process it," he said.
