Russia loses five tanks, 42 artillery systems, air defense equipment, and 1,060 soldiers in one day — General Staff

Russian equipment losses include:

• Artillery systems — 27,080 (+42) units

• Multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) — 1,373 units

• Air defense systems — 1,146 (+1) units

• Aircraft — 370 units

• Helicopters — 335 units

• Operational-tactical UAVs — 34,177 (+94) units

• Cruise missiles — 3,196 units

• Ships/boats — 28 units

• Submarines — 1 unit

• Motor vehicles and fuel tankers — 46,432 (+140) units

• Special equipment — 3,860 units.

Russian losses in Ukraine 

On Feb. 24, AFU Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that over three years of full-scale war, the irrecoverable personnel losses of Russia’s army had reached about 250,000 soldiers.

On April 1, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported highest Russian monthly (March) losses of artillery systems and vehicles since the start of the full-scale invasion.

On April 12, Syrskyi reported that Russia's total personnel losses had reached 140,650 since the beginning of 2025.

On April 18, BBC News Russian Service wrote that over the past two months, while Russia has been negotiating with the US about ending the war against Ukraine, its frontline losses have not decreased but have surged instead.
