Russian drones strike port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, one injured

Russia attacked near-port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast with Shahed drones overnight, damaging facilities, and injuring one in the Izmail district, local administration reported on Aug. 10.

Updated at 7:43 a.m. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service clarified that, as a result of the strikes in Odesa Oblast, a large fire broke out at a fuel-and-energy infrastructure facility. 54 rescuers and 16 pieces of equipment took part in the response, and a Ukrzaliznytsia firefighting train was deployed.

Late on Aug. 19, explosions were heard in Odesa. Ukraine’s Air Force reported a missile attack on Oblast, followed later by Shahed drones.

Overnight before Aug. 18, Russian forces hit an oil depot belonging to Azerbaijan’s SOCAR in Odesa Oblast, sparking a major blaze. It was the second attack on the facility in a month and damaged all of the depot’s storage tanks.
